Well you see, ARCHIVE isn't really as much of an actual downloading site for MUGEN content as much as it is just one gigantic middle finger to anyone who simply.

To help with your Shinmyoumaru issue, the creator's website is always a good place to check, specifically here. They tend to do these things heck, they're actually doing it while I'm posting this, hence why I'm even here , where they basically disable downloads with stuff like this:. This could be due to one of several reasons:. So basically Copy 'n paste the link, then use the skipper as Silver suggested. And as for the main topic here, I do find MugenArchive to be very petty. Now I have to wait until Monday just to download her.{/INSERTKEYS}{/PARAGRAPH} However, if there were character that didn't have a page on the wiki, I wouldn't know about their existence in mugen, so that's why I create new pages and fill in missing gaps. To answer one potential concern, the fact that we don't link to the Archive for download purposes is not out of spite or malice, but simply because of their enforced use of adf. I still hate it every time I download something there though. It really does annoy me how they always have community weekend events for the worshippers of the website, if only there was some way to bypass the community exclusive B. I can't possibly see how I'm the only one experiencing that banned e-mail issue. It can be pretty handy finding rare files, them having admins that are corrupt is still a con from yours truly. I've also downloaded some stuff there and hosted it on MediaFire if the only link available was at the archive so I could put the MediaFire link on a page for a character I wanted to document. All right, I'll try to find some characters that would overwise be lost, I don't know how succesful I'll be but I'll try. This is why I love this wiki so much. Right now, M. It also doesn't help that they do this community event thing where "lurkers" can't download anything for a limited time. This wiki was a close second though, because of the information about the characters available there. {PARAGRAPH}{INSERTKEYS}I may be coming off as incredibly whiny judging from my title alone, but after so many months of managing and adding to my MUGEN I'm really in the mood to tear that horrendous excuse of a downloading portal a new one. You can find the original links for most of these, so posting alternate links isn't necessary; for instance, Jack and Rose can be found on the creator's website. The site's name makes it's aim fairly obvious: To act as a permanent mirror for MUGEN content that can't be found elsewhere either yet or anymore. And this forum post was made for no other reason other than to blow off some steam. So when I first got into mugen more than a year ago and I wanted to find out which characters were available in mugen and I wanted to download them mugen archive was my friend. To be fair, I never really had any problem with registering in the website I honestly want the site to be taken down, making profit off freeware work that you cannot take down due to author request. Yep, this confirms the common theory that they have massive egos. But the way it functions makes it one of the most arbitrary, pointless and anger-inducing things ever. I'm speechless Nothing but a typical power-hungry condescening admin who thinks he's better than everyone else. This isn't the only example of this that I experienced of course, and it kinda appears that people hate ARCHIVE so much they're eager to get their hands on the stuff it hosts and mirror them elsewhere where people can actually download them properly. Pretty sure you will risk getting banned and you prevent them getting money so they will complain about that like crybabies. Sure, it will cost more time finding a download link, but they don't deserve it anymore. Suddenly using ad. And not to mention the "weekend event" when downloads are disabled for "innactive users" which are the majority of their userbase. N Archive removed the downloading privilege for all unregistered users. You don't have to include the release date on the collections board, since they're old releases and such isn't always known. They download files and that's it and I am one of those people. The reason why I think the Mugen Wiki is better than the Mugen Archive is because our admins actually care about their users, rather than randomly banning people or punishing unregistered users and calling them "leechers". If ya hate them simply for the fact that they use ad. N Collections board as long as you adhere to the board rules:. I may come across as some kind of conspiracy theorist, but I find it highly hypocritical of them to leech off of other people's work and yet call all unregistered users "leechers" themselves for daring to just come to download something from there. That may be just me though I wouldn't even be complaining about all this if I were to have a registered account there myself, but I attempted to register myself there for like EIGHT times I even made new e-mail addresses just to make sure and all the times I filled out everything it then said something like "this e-mail address is banned from this site, if you believe this was in mistake, contact the site administrator" So registering there doesn't seem to work for me I should consider making a new e-mail address on another site entirely just to get there, whether it's gonna work or not It's seemingly not that big of a deal, but I can't think of any other content hosting site that does this See, they don't just archive stuff there, they just look around for all content they could find to host there, so it only adds to my perspective. And thanks for the Shinmyoumaru link, but like I said in my original post, I'm not a 1. I just don't understand why Mugenarchives have to need to remove certain privileges from members who aren't even very active on the website. There's really no point in making a new account since that'd count as ban evading and thus they'd have a legitimate reason to ban you. Also, I'm not a lurker, yay me! One work around I do for downloading things is use the AdSkipper Chrome extension so I could download my files without going through ad. And then they do stuff like this. Again, any MUGEN content I try to download and can only find there may as well be lost forever until someone kind enough mirrors it somewhere else. You're certainly not the only one who feels this way, though you are late to hop on the bandwagon. I use the adf. Criticism towards the site counts as a bannable offence over there. I ignored that at first and downloaded some stuff, but then I started to dislike the archive and stopped downloading anything there that was available somewhere else. If you however just so happen to feel the same way I do, or think I'm a whiny piece of cow dung, please comment below. How do I put my thoughts correctly? S so then others can freely download the files that are exclusive there, once there is it will pretty much save so many less devoted users. I would love to hear from ya! Probably obvious by now Eventually it reached a tipping point and I really felt like tearing it to shreds for my own pleasure. Regardless of all that, I still use the site occasionally even with all these problems. I just checked and shinmyoumaru is hosted on onedrive, the link can be found at the touhou collection on MFFA. I could quickly download whatever I wanted I saw there. THis is one of the reasons why I dispise the site. It really annoys me to no end. I just keep it there in case I absolutely have to get something from an adf. Guess what? The Site is just bad in general in my opinion, they forcefully moved my stuff to Amateur and Child Art which i saw nothing in that at all, and that they started claiming that i wasn't 18 and i was 13, but i really am 18, so instead i moved my character files to MediaFire instead. No, I don't mean that way; the Archive's adf. Then I got a bit bored with mugen and left my mugen as it is. You can post them individually on the M. But again, thank you. However, when I decided to go back into mugen, the archive put adf. Even if there were other sites, the archive had my preference. Silverzerokai wrote: If ya hate them simply for the fact that they use ad. And yes, I myself consider ARCHIVE's use of adfly a purely ethical concern considering the bad image it makes of itself as a content leecher, that is , but thanks for your insight. Not the mention, there was a community weekend event being held on the wiki. Don't believe me? What a bad move. Alright, then I kinda messed it up a little I did however edit my original post accordingly, namely to remove the mentioned forum sites and leaving the file hosting sites mentioned in my comparison to the ARCHIVE at the end My biggest problem with the archive is the fact it has adf. Here's an example albeit a poor one And now a few months later I You see what I mean? Gudine wrote: For the record, the adf. I DID NOT make these and I would appreciate it if someone were to add these links to a proper place on the wiki assuming they are not already on here. Anyone who actually used it probably has a much better idea than I do, but I just despise it like hell. I feel the same mugen archive is being really strict about unreigstred users that it makes me so mad that the characters on there are not on database. I forgot to add on my original post that I originally did go to her OneDrive file So I'm not the only one who feels that way? This type of stuff turn people off in a bad way. It shows how insecure they really are.
